Alexander Thomson, Jr. (1785-1863) was an early Texas legislator and surveyor. He formed a partnership with Sterling C. Robertson to take families to Robertson's Colony in Texas. He represented the district of Hidalgo at the Convention of 1832 and in 1835 was a delegate from Viesca to the Consultation. He was married to Elizabeth Dowsing in 1805. Born in Nashville, Tennessee, to Elijah and Sarah (Maclin) Robertson, Sterling Clack Robertson (1785-1842) served as a deputy quartermaster during the War of 1812. After the war, he owned a plantation in Giles County and was a stockholder in the Texas Association, signing a memorial to the Mexican government in 1822 requesting permission to settle in Texas.
